Meraki Capital Completes Fifth Acquisition of 2026 with TBC Recruitment
Meraki Capital, a London-based recruitment investment firm, has announced the acquisition of UK-based TBC Recruitment for an undisclosed amount, marking its fifth acquisition of 2026. The deal is part of the company’s ongoing strategy to build a larger, specialist recruitment platform through targeted acquisitions.
TBC Recruitment, headquartered in Chester, operates under the brands CSP and Vital People. Following the acquisition, the business will become part of the Magnus Search brand, which Meraki Capital acquired last year as part of its long-term expansion strategy.
Meraki Capital stated that Magnus Search is being developed through a series of strategic acquisitions and is led by managing director Bradley Wood. The latest acquisition will also provide the group with access to an £8 million funding facility to support further growth and expansion.
TBC Recruitment specialises in blue-collar staffing across industries such as warehousing, food production, logistics, distribution, and basic manufacturing. The company employs 31 staff and manages more than 650 temporary workers across its client network.
Nick Gordon, founder of Meraki Capital, said the recruitment company had faced challenges due to rising wage inflation, increased National Insurance costs, and overall employment cost pressures. However, he described TBC as a fundamentally strong business with a loyal client base and an experienced team. He added that bringing TBC under the Magnus brand would provide the resources, technology, and commercial support needed to return the business to profitability and support future growth.
TBC Recruitment was founded and led by Jason Fox, who had already been planning a transition toward semi-retirement. That transition will continue under the new ownership, with the existing management team remaining in place and continuing to play a key role in the company’s operations.
The acquisition is part of Meraki Capital’s broader plan to build a scaled recruitment platform by acquiring established sector specialists and supporting them with shared infrastructure, technology, and investment to accelerate growth.
Meraki Capital has been actively expanding its recruitment portfolio in 2026. Prior to acquiring TBC Recruitment, the company completed acquisitions of Smart Recruitment and Wise Recruitment, and earlier in January, it acquired Sert, a Hampshire-based recruitment and training provider, as well as City Centre Recruitment.
This latest deal highlights Meraki Capital’s continued acquisition-driven growth strategy and its focus on strengthening its presence in the UK recruitment and staffing market.
