Rippling Appoints Sonia Parandekar as SVP of Engineering and India Site Lead
Rippling has announced the appointment of Sonia Parandekar as Senior Vice President of Engineering and head of its Bengaluru operations, as the company accelerates global product development and expands its engineering footprint.
Valued at $16.8 billion, Rippling is continuing to scale its unified platform spanning HR, IT, and finance. The company’s Bengaluru hub has emerged as a strategic center for innovation and is now its largest engineering base outside San Francisco, playing a critical role in driving global product expansion.
In her new role, Parandekar will oversee engineering operations in Bengaluru and contribute to scaling Rippling’s global infrastructure and product capabilities. She brings over 20 years of experience across multinational corporations and high-growth startups, with leadership roles spanning the US–India technology ecosystem.
Parandekar’s career includes senior engineering positions at Microsoft, Groupon, and Urban Ladder. She also played a foundational role at Atlassian as its first R&D hire in Bengaluru, where she helped scale its Commerce and Marketplace platforms to generate billions in revenue.
Rippling’s India operations have grown rapidly, surpassing 1,000 employees. The company recently expanded its presence with a second 100,000-square-foot office at Embassy Tech Village, housing teams across engineering, product, sales, and customer support. Since entering the Indian market in 2017, Rippling has recruited more than 20 former founders and entrepreneurs and plans to double its workforce in the country to 2,000 employees over the next three years.
“Sonia has a track record of advancing complex systems and building exceptional teams,” said Albert Strasheim, Chief Technology Officer at Rippling. “As we continue to expand the platform, we need leaders who can operate with both speed and precision. Sonia brings exactly that.”
Commenting on her appointment, Parandekar highlighted the scale of opportunity at Rippling, noting that the company is building one of the most ambitious platforms in enterprise software. She added that leading both global engineering initiatives and the Bengaluru hub presents a compelling opportunity, particularly in a city where she has deep professional roots.
The appointment underscores Rippling’s continued investment in India as a key innovation hub and its broader strategy to strengthen global engineering leadership while accelerating product expansion.
